Anna University Distance Education Entrance Test 2010 (DEET January 2010)

Separate Entrance Tests will be conducted for admission to MBA, MCA and M.Sc degree programmes. Candidates need to submit only one application form indicating the choice of programme(s).
Eligibility

1. Master of Business Administration (MBA) – Any degree of 3 years of study duration and a pass in the entrance test conducted by Anna University.
2. Master of Computer Applications (MCA) – Any degree of 3 years of study duration with Mathematics at HSC or degree level and a pass in the entrance test conducted by Anna University.
3. Master of Science (M.Sc) – B.Sc. Mathematics / Computer Science / Physics / Information Technology / Software Engineering/ Applied Science / Computer Technology / Applied Science – Computer Technology /Applied Science – Information Technology / Applied Science – Computer Systems Maintenance and Networking / Electronics / B.C.A. / B.E.S. or equivalent and a pass in the entrance test conducted by Anna University.

Selection and Admission Procedure

A rank list will be prepared based on the marks scored in DEET JANUARY 2010 and admission is based on the ranks obtained.

Syllabus for Entrance Test : MBA

The question paper will be designed to test the capability of the candidates in the following areas :

1. Data analysis
2. Comprehension skill
3. Basic Quantitative ability
4. Written English test

Candidates are required to answer 100 objective type questions in 2 hours. Each Question will be followed by FOUR alternate answers. Candidate has to choose the correct answer and shade the appropriate circle against the question in the answer sheet with pencil / ball point pen (black or blue).

Evaluation Scheme

While evaluating the answers, one mark is awarded for each correct answer. No negative marks for wrong answers.

MCA

The question paper will be designed to test the capability of the candidates in the following areas :

1. Quantitative Ability
2. Analytical Reasoning
3. Logical reasoning
4. Computer awareness
5. There may be few questions on verbal activity, basic science etc.

The Question paper will have 100 objective type questions. Each question will be followed by FOUR alternate answers. The Candidate has to choose the correct answer and shade the appropriate circle against the question in the answer sheet with pencil / ball point pen (black or blue).

M.Sc

The question paper will be designed to test the capability of the candidates in the following areas :

1. Quantitative Ability
2. Analytical Reasoning
3. Logical reasoning
4. Problem solving approaches and computer fundamentals
5. Analytical geometry, Boolean algebra, probability & statistics and basic science

The Question paper will have 100 objective type questions. Each question will be followed by FOUR alternate answers. The Candidate has to choose the correct answer and shade the appropriate circle against the question in the answer sheet with pencil / ball point pen (black or blue).

While evaluating the answers, one mark is awarded for each correct answer. No negative marks for wrong answers.
