Andhra Bank clerical recruitment2009
Public lender, Andhra Bank plans to hire on supervisory and clerical positions and has therefore decided to recruit more than 1,000 people for the same.
The Bank’s Chairman and Managing Director, R.S. Reddy said, “The hiring will be done at the earliest as we will be opening 110 new branches before June this year. We are also lining up some important product launches. For all, manpower is vital.”
The recruitment will also include 100 marketing staff on contract basis.
The bank had been performing well over the past years and has recently crossed the Rs 1 lakh business mark. Now it targets to cross Rs 1.50 lakh crore by September 2010. “I believe this is possible through better leveraging of our brand loyalty. In fact, we are operating at a much lower capacity than what our standing in the market allows,” said.
The bank’s aim to integrate all branches through core banking solution (CBS) will also help the bank to accomplish its target.
As of now the credit growth of the bank has been reported to be healthy. Last year it sanctioned around Rs 23,000 crore to the corporate sector. “Out of this, Rs 10,000 crore is yet to be disbursed. The infrastructure projects are doing well while the real estate is dull,” said Mr Reddy.
The bank is enjoying a margin of nearly 3% between his advances and deposits. Most of the advances of the bank are in the range of 11% where as the cost of deposits stand at around 7% per annum.
Meanwhile Andhra Bank is also mobilizing deposits. “Our target is to acquire 1.5 million new customers a year,” said Reddy.
The hiring process of the bank is planned as per the future targets. Last year also the bank recruited more than 900 officers and clerks.
