BANGALORE: Chaos, frustration and confusion reigned at some of the test centres in Bangalore on the second day of Common Admission Test (CAT)
The computer-based test which commenced on Saturday, ran into trouble, as students in many centres couldn’t login or start the test due to technical glitches. As a result, the tests were cancelled in two centres and in a few, it was delayed by 30 to 45 minutes.
Students in a fix
The situation was similar on Sunday. Students went to Garden City College (GCC) just to return without taking the test. Both the sessions were cancelled. The confusion was because of a Prometric statement on Saturday which stated: Prometric and IIMs have decided to delay the start of testing in Garden City College of Science and Management Studies (GCC) until November 30, 2009.
Amit Manohar, an engineering student, received a mail about his new test centre and timings along with his admit card attached. He was given the test date on Saturday at GCC, but it was cancelled due to technical glitches. “When I reached Garden City College on Sunday, I was disappointed. Both the sessions of CAT 2009 tests were cancelled at this centre,” he said.
