1. INTRODUCTION
The Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar will
make admission to 2nd year (3rd semester) of
Engineering / Pharmacy courses in the
Institutions affiliated to it.
2. PARTICIPATING INSTITUTES
The complete address of Institutes
with telephone numbers of the contact persons is
given in profile of colleges in Part- F. The
number of seats etc. in these Institutes are as
listed in the Punjab Government notification
No. 13 / 34 /08 -1TE2 / 1750 dated 25.05.2009
and No. 13 / 33 /08 -1TE2 / 1762 dated
25.05.2009 reproduced in the Information
Brochure as Part – C.
3. IMPORTANT DATES

Start of online Registration :. 07.08.2009
Last of online Registration : 13.08.2009
Start of Counselling : 17.08.2009

4. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

(A)(i) Engineering: The qualification for admission to
2nd year / 3rd semester of the under Graduate
Programmes in Engineering & Technology courses
shall be as per the following order of preference :
I. Candidates who have passed Diploma in
Engineering / Technology (as per list of
streams given in the notification No. 13 /
34 /08 -1TE2 / 1750 dated 25.05.2009)
with 50% marks in aggregate (for SC/ST 40%)
or equivalent grade point and have Punjab
residence as per instruction given in the above
referred notification on page No.11
II. Candidates who have only passed Diploma in
any branch (as per list of streams given in
the notification No. 13 / 34 /08 -1TE2 /
1750 dated 25.05.2009) of Engineering /
Technology are eligible for admission. OR
Candidates who have passed B. Sc. Degree
and have Punjab residence (both for Diploma
and B.Sc.) as per instruction given in the above
referred notification on page No.11
III Provided, however, if some seats remain
vacant even after considering all the
aforesaid candidates, then candidates
from outside Punjab who have passed the
Diploma in any branch of Engineering /
Technology (as per list given in the
notification No. 13 / 34 /08 -1TE2 / 1750
dated 25.05.2009) from any other
Institution in the country, affiliated to any
recognized Board shall also be eligible to

be considered for admission to the vacant
seats in various disciplines of B.E. /
B. Tech. courses as per the following
order of preference :
a. Candidates who have passed Diploma in
Engineering / Technology (as per list of
streams given in the notification No.
13 / 34 /08 -1TE2 / 1750 dated
25.05.2009) with 50% marks in
aggregate (for SC/ST 40%) or equivalent
grade point
b. Candidates who have only passed
Diploma in any branch (as per list of
streams given in the notification No.
13 / 34 /08 -1TE2 / 1750 dated
25.05.2009) of Engineering / Technology
are eligible for admission. OR
Candidates who have passed B. Sc.
Degree
Admission shall be made purely on the inter-se
merit in qualifying marks through counselling.
(ii) Pharmacy: The minimum qualification for
admission to 2nd year (3rd semester) of B. Pharmacy
courses shall be as follows:
(i) All those candidates who have passed the
Diploma Pharmacy from an Institution
affiliated to the Punjab State Board of
Technical Education & Industrial Training /
Punjabi University, Patiala or any other
University or any State Board of Technical
Education provided that the Diploma or the
institute duly approved by the PCI / AICTE
and have Punjab residence as per instruction
given in the notification No. 13 / 33 /08 -
1TE2 / 1762 dated 25.05.2009.
(ii) Provided, however, if some seats remain vacant
even after considering all the aforesaid
candidates, then candidates from outside
Punjab who have passed the Diploma in
Pharmacy from any other Institution in the
country, affiliated to any recognized Board (the
diploma or the institute must be approved by the
PCI / AICTE) shall also be eligible to be
considered for admission to the vacant seats in
various disciplines of B.E. / B. Tech. courses.
Such students directly admitted to the Pharmacy
2nd year shall have to pass those subjects of
B. Pharmacy 1st year which are not covered under
D. Pharmacy
(B) He/She possesses a good moral character.
(C) He / She fulfills the conditions mentioned in
the Punjab Govt. notification incorporated in
the Information Brochure.
(D) He / She fulfills the requirements laid down
by the University.
