A few points: TCS is best as far as 3-month training is considered among Asia’s top IT companies! Pays most salary among Indian IT companies as promised for a post, others promise more, pays little.
If you get an offer neglect it only for Microsoft, Google, Adobe, Cap Gemini and alike.
Don’t block offer letters by sitting for all IT companies.
For example there are some idiot “geniuses” who get selected in TCS, CTS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, IBM, Cap Gemini etc. and don’t let others to get the job! They will find place in hell! And there are some genius “idiots” who will sit in 1 or 2 tests and get 1 job (at most 2) and though they could have hanged a bunch of offer letters on their sitting room they didn’t do so and hence will be respected by all for growing together. There are 10 types of people in this world: try to be in the respected bracket! [10₂ = 2₁₀]
Selection process in TCS is simple. If you plan it, there is no way you can get rejected! Every above average boy or girl can get into TCS; if you are a genius then go for Google, Microsoft or CAT exam. TCS prefers Computer Science students but other streams have almost an equal chance!

Success Story: TCS came on February, 2008 on our campus at Kolkata. Aptitude test was simple (90 minutes), prepare well and you’ll succeed!
I prepared for only 2 days; if you think you are very intelligent, even without preparation you will get an offer letter! But this is not true for most students: Be safe than sorry! Prepare for more than 2 weeks!
Prepare Baron’s GRE 12th edition (all Model Test papers) to get a very high score in aptitude. I didn’t prepare myself. I just went through other fresher’s world placement papers of TCS. [a must]
More than 50% will be common and rest has to be done there! In aptitude test don’t think twice – these are not puzzles!
Make most of your time! If you face a tough question guess and move on otherwise you will run out of time. Don’t tense at all; others are facing the same tough question.
I had almost all common from quantitative section [if you prepare 10 fresher’s world papers you will get 90% common, they don’t even change coefficients].
In Verbal section I had 5 common from fresher’s world paper, most were guesswork!
In logical reasoning I didn’t have anything common. I had to do everything including calculations there in the provided paper & not in my mind.
One of my friends finished logical test in 5 minutes as all were common from Baron’s GRE 12th edition model test paper no. 5.
Tip: Most MCQs have answer ‘c’ so when guessing stick to a particular option, it increases probability of correctness!
I ticked option “d” for the questions whose answer I had no idea about. Very carefully follow the instructions of the TCS representative. There will be no Sectional cut-off. If it is an online test never click the “End” button! Test will occur in an Active server page popped upon clicking IE6. Enter Login-id and password as told by TCS representative.

Verbal: 32
Quantitative: 38
Logical: 12
I haven’t given any aptitude questions in the article as you will find the same in fresher’s world or placement papers .in or geek jobs or yuva jobs or alike. I emphasized on Tech+ HR questions finding that none provide much insight in this critical part of selection process.
