The Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training is an autonomous body created under the Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training Act, 1992. The Board conducts Joint Entrance Test (JET) for admissions to various diploma courses being run in the institutions affiliated to the Board. This year the test will be conducted on 15th May, 2011(Sunday).
This prospectus gives detailed information relating to the procedures and other conditions for JET-2011 and Admissions. Candidates are advised to carefully go through all the parts of prospectus before applying for JET and they must retain this prospectus with them till the admission process is over.
The test shall be open to candidates who have passed the Matriculation or equivalent examination with pass in the subjects of Mathematics, Science and English, provided that a candidate who has appeared for the qualifying examination but whose result has not been declared shall be admitted provisionally to the Joint Entrance Test but his/her candidature shall be cancelled if he/she fails to qualify in the examination or fails to produce the proof of his having qualified at the time of counselling. Such candidates will have no claim,whatsoever, with regard to the admission to any course. Note : If the application is being sent to the Board by post, Fee should be sent through Bank Draft in favour of “Secretary, Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training” payable at “Chandigarh”, However if the Application Form is submitted in the designated banks then the applicant should deposit the same in the form of cash and obtain proper receipt.
Candidates are advised to deposit the Application Form preferably at the Banks.
PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING FOR THE JET
A) AVAILABILITY OF PROSPECTUS :
The JET Prospectus-cum-Application Form can be obtained from the office of the Board or Polytechnic Institutions or designated branches of Punjab National Bank as mentioned at page 2-3 of the prospectus by making a payment of Rs. 250/- at the counter. In case copies of JET-Prospectus are sold out before the last date at any of the places listed at page 2-3 then the same may be obtained from the office of the Board at Chandigarh.
b) SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM
The JET Application Form(also referred to as OMR Form) complete in all respects should be enclosed in the envelop supplied with the prospectus and deposited at a designated Bank branch listed at page 2-4. The examination fee should be paid in cash @ Rs. 1000/- (for General and other categories) and Rs. 750/- (for SC/ST) along with the application form in one of the bank branches of Punjab National Bank. In case the application form is sent by post/courier, it should be accompained Registrar of the Board with photo copy of the submitted OMR Application Form & photocopy of acknowledgement slip received from Bank/Institute. A sum of Rs. 50/- will be charged as Duplicate Admit Card fee.
vi) In case there is any mistake in the Admit Card, the candidate must contact the Board’s Office personally for rectification of the same immediately after receipt of the Admit Card.
vii) No candidate will be allowed to enter in the examination hall without the Admit Card. Therefore candidates must ensure that they have with them the Admit Card issued by the Board for the exam.
viii) The Admit Card is an important document, which must be retained by the candidate till the completion of the admission process.
ix) Examination centre will not be changed under any circumstances.
x) There is no re-evaluation/re-checking of JET Answer sheet.

CAUTION : JET APPLICATION FORM SUPPLIED ALONG WITH THIS PROSPECTUS IS TO BE DECODED BY A COMPUTER BASED MACHINE. THEREFORE, THE CANDIDATES ARE ADVISED TO PAY PARTICULAR ATTENTION TOWARDS FILLING OF THE OMR APPLICATION FORM.
